What are some good educational websites for middle school or high school students?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under educational websites | 1 Comment »

I’m looking for websites for a project for work. I’m especially interested in websites related to math, social studies, science, reading, and other academic areas. Also, they should be geared towards students in the United States

One of the websites I know is ‘exambank.com’

You should check with your school to see if your school has an account with them
I am in a school in Canada

Any good websites for a math conversion table?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under math websites | 1 Comment »

If you know a good website for a good math conversion please tell me! I would prefer a printable one not an online on. I need it for an Algebra 1 course notes. My teacher needs us to memorize all important conversions such as measurement in metric and standard for liquid and distance. If you don’t know a good website please give me some good ideas so I can type out some notes for myself.

Soccerstar, I find this website helpful:

What are good websites for reading books free online ?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under reading websites | 1 Comment »

i have already tried scribd …i want more websites !! thanks :) ))

Check the author’s website. The author owns the rights to his work so any one else putting it online is stealing.

Scribd is a peer to peer sharing site. However having access to a book and a scanner does not give legal permission to upload a book.

Cory Doctorow is one of the few authors that will give legal permission to read his books online. Baen Books has a limited number of free.

Does anybody know any websites for guidance scenerios for daycare centres?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under preschool websites | 1 Comment »

I’m a preschool teacher who really wants to brush up on my guidance techniques. I know the obvious basics, I just like to be able to look up what to do in certain situations. I’m rereading my guidance textbook but I’d like to find a website with different scenarios. There seems to be enough websites out there for activities and stuff but I can’t seem to find anything directed on guidance. Anybody have any good free website resources?

I am going to school right now studying to become a teacher and a lot of ECE classes require working with babies and toddlers, the preschool ages. So I use this website called Everything Preschool. You can go to that website and in their search box, you can type in the word "guidance" to display a few items and articles. Hope that it helps.
