This website is not specifically for teachers, but they have many art and crafts project ideas, games, and worksheets/activity sheets for children. You can use it in preschool or in daycare.

well to open your school means in your hand their is a future of the up growing children so select those teachers who actually know the meaning of "studies"

My daughter is 4 but she has a late birthday so she won’t start kindergarten till next fall. I was hoping to have my own preschool time at home rather than send her to a preschool that costs 200 a week. Are there websites that allow me to print off schooling sheets or stores that carry teacher work books that don’t cost an arm and a leg to get?

Good for you! In the States we have a publication called The Mailbox Preschool. I subscribe the the magazine but I’ve found that many libraries carry the editions. Either the yearbooks and other publications or the magazines themselves. Check out your parent/teacher resource section. You’ll find all sorts of goodies for your preschool child.

www.kidsoup.com is a good site. There is a small membership fee. I don’t usually become a member to sites such as these but I did become one here after seeing the activities and such from where I use to work.

www.childcareland.com might be of some use to you. It’s free…you can have the dailies emailed to you. I don’t recommend the "art" because I tend to believe in more open-ended art projects but the other material is decent.

Some people will say www.enchantedlearning.com. It’s an option. You can get some stuff free. The membership really isn’t worth it.

Check the dollar store for workbooks, if that is up your girl’s line. I don’t recommend workbooks for preschool students but some students actually enjoy it. I like to take the workbook pages out and put them in page protectors and in a binder to be used over and over.

Kumon: Writing book is very nice and I’ve yet to have a kid in my home-based preschool not enjoy it. It’s progressive and is like "mazes". Target, Meijer, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble all carry it.

I also found that I prefer the Kindergarten teacher websites I just make the activities a bit easier for my preschool students. So you can google those! There are some real treasures out there!

Also check your local library for WordWorld DVD’s and Reader Rabbit: The Great Alphabet Race were popular and helpful with my children and my preschool students. JumpStart CD’s are also good ones if you have a computer available for your child to use.

I recommend you check the Kindergarten standards for your area. No, your child will not learn all of it because it’s based on what a Kindergarten child would know at the end of the year…but it will give you an idea of where to go. A couple things that teachers have told me the children are lacking in are scissor skills/controlling liquid glue; hand strength—therefor the ability to write is more difficult. So do lots of open ended scissor activities. I let the kids cut up various materials and make collages and we do a lot of manipulative activities—playdough, etc.

I would also suggest you do weekly or biweekly themes. It makes it more meaningful to the child but really…it makes it easier for you to find things off the internet (which will be your best friend ).

I am currently in my 1st semester of obtaining my cda and I have worked in a licensed child care facility since August of 09. What must a director have in order to run a preschool? Please don’t send me to any websites. I have searched and I just wanted the answer in english

The children in my class range from ages 17months to 22 months. I want some good age appropriate crafts and things to help them learn.

There are so many crafts here, all categorized by subject, and some by letter. Some also include appropriate age ranges for each.

Also check out your public library. Every library I’ve ever been to has an unlimited supply of books about kids crafts.
